A first-of-its-kind luxury whisky trail fusing international spirits with Indian gourmet pairings

Mumbai, (Maharashtra) [India]: Bombay House Luxury proudly presented the debut edition of the World Spirits Series, an immersive whisky experience curated by trailblazing mixologist Shatbhi Basu and visionary entrepreneur Nicole Liz Faria, held on the 8th of August, 2025. For the first time in India, connoisseurs experienced a format that brought together rare and exceptional whiskies from across the globe, presented with a depth of storytelling and expertise that promises to transform the way the country experiences fine spirits.

At the centre of this landmark event was Shatbhi Basu’s unparalleled knowledge of whisky. Widely regarded as the pioneer of professional mixologist in India, she crafted an evening that went far beyond tasting — it was an exploration of history, terroir, technique and character. The World Spirits Series offered guests a unique journey through some of the most celebrated whisky expressions, presented in a way that made each sip an education as well as a celebration.

Shatbhi Basu is India’s first female professional bartender, an award-winning mixologist, educator and educator, brings her legendary expertise. Founder of STIR Academy of Bartending (India’s first professional bartending school) she has transformed the country’s beverage landscape for over 30 years. From being an American Whiskey Ambassador (2013–2016) to receiving the ‘Keeper of the Quaich’ honour in Scotland and the 2024 Tatler Best Asia: Legacy Award, she has shaped the global narrative around Indian whisky appreciation.
